Marilyn Jeanne Weaver, 86, of Bethany Village, Centerville and formerly of Farmersville, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 29, 1930 in Ellerton, OH the daughter of Forrest and Golda (Dunkle) Liston. Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, attended Miami University and graduated with a degree in home economics from University of Dayton. Marilyn Jeanne Weaver, 86, of Bethany Village, Centerville and formerly of Farmersville, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 29, 1930 in Ellerton, OH the daughter of Forrest and Golda (Dunkle) Liston. Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, attended Miami University and graduated with a degree in home economics from University of Dayton. As a career she worked for Frigidaire as a home economist. Later she used her sewing talents with the McCall's Corporation and Dritz Sewing Notions leading sewing seminars. She found true enjoyment in sewing for family and friends including a seamstress service out of her home. Marilyn mastered the piano at a young age, later learned the organ, and began playing for church at the age of 16. The majority of those years she was organist for Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ellerton, and more recently for Bethany Village. Marilyn was a member of South Dayton H.E.H.C. Home Economics Association, Vivace Music Club, and active in her church and as a volunteer at Bethany Village. Her greatest joy was her family. Her steadfast devotion to her husband 'Gene' has provided a role model to her children and grandchildren. Most importantly Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Eugene Weaver; children, David (Laverne) Weaver of Eaton, Ann (Jack) Warner of Germantown, and Greg Weaver (Crystal Swift) of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren; Emily (Jim) Ray, Danny (Amber) Weaver, Jessica (Blake) Stebbins, Jenna (Blake) Hayes, Jon and Laura Weaver; great grandchildren, Tate, Rylee, Trent, Jackson, Spencer, Forrest, and a granddaughter on the way; sister-in-law, Carol Christman; brother-in-law, Hans Holztrager; as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, June Holztrager. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Family will receive guests from 10:00-11:00 am Monday at Bethany Village Linden House Auditorium, 6451 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Auditorium is located south of the 11 story tower (Vista Place). A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Bob Ashburn. Private inurnment will take place at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville at a later date.
