SKARHA, Shirley Jane, age 81 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Bethany Village, Dayton. She was born January 9, 1936 in Dayton to the late Ora Sr. and Margaret (Dohme) Rolfe. In addition to her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sue Laforsch. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Conrad Skarha Jr., a devoted daughter, Paula (Timothy) Henry of Miamisburg; a very special step-daughter, Elaine (Nick) Raptosh of Miamisburg; step-son, Lee (Pam) Skarha of Michigan; grandchild, Timothy P. Henry and step-grandchildren, Joshua (Kerri) Sharp, Danielle (Zach) Bell, Heather Skarha, Shannon Skarha, Becky (Jeffrey) Weiss, Samantha (Jeremiah) Palmer and Lindsey Raptosh; nine great grandchildren and a brother, Orie Rolfe Jr. Shirley was a life-ling resident of the Dayton area and a 1953 graduate of Stivers High School. She worked for Coyne Dentistry as a dental assistant retiring in 1990 after 25 years of employment. On occasion, she still helped out as they would need a warm and friendly assistant to fill in. Shirley and her loving travel companion, Conrad, journeyed in their travel trailers through 48 states and 6 Canadian provinces. They parked their trailer a few times to visit Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, England and the Scandinavian countries. Shirley and Conrad were classic "snowbird", wintering in Florida for 15 years. She would soak up the world every chance she got as her favorite past time and ended each day with the love of her life and a glass of wine. Her spirit and appreciation for life will be cherished by all that are left to remember her. Shirley's family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff of Bethany Village for the superior care they provided. Family will receive friends during a memorial gathering Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg from 5:00-7:00 PM and Calvary Cemetery, Dayton will serve as her final resting place. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 or Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter at 31 Whipp Rd., Dayton, OH 45459. Personal condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting Shirley's online memorial at www.gebhartschmidtparramore.com..
