Vonnie R. McFaddin, 67, of Miamisburg, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 in his home. He was born June 7, 1949 in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was a 1968 graduate of Colonel White High School and attended Sinclair Community College. Vonnie was proud to have served his country in the United States Army from June 1968 - December 1971. He served as a Green Beret in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Vonnie recently retired from Dal-Tile Corporation. He was a devoted Christ follower. Vonnie R. McFaddin, 67, of Miamisburg, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 in his home. He was born June 7, 1949 in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was a 1968 graduate of Colonel White High School and attended Sinclair Community College. Vonnie was proud to have served his country in the United States Army from June 1968 - December 1971. He served as a Green Beret in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Vonnie recently retired from Dal-Tile Corporation. He was a devoted Christ follower. Vonnie enjoyed traveling to the beach, going on cruises, and was a dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan. His true love in life was his family and friends. He loved to spend time with family and attend the grandchildren's sporting events. Vonnie is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years, Becky (Downs) McFaddin; son, Brian McFaddin of Saline, MI; daughters, Kim (Kevin) Grone of Union, OH and Jen (Brett) Sutton of Springboro, OH; grandchildren, Hunter, Braxton, Jameson, Reagan, Macy, and Nolan; mother, Maravella (Goble) McClanahan; mother-in-law, Iva Jean Downs; siblings, Ida (Jim) Daily, James (Donna) McClanahan, Chris (Steve) Christ, and Kyle (Tina) McClanahan; many nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Vicky & Steve Beck, Jeff & Lesha Spahr, Joe & Jerri Getts. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Vonnie McFaddin; father, Stephen McClanahan; sister, Terri Spinks; father-in-law, John Downs. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Trinity Church, 203 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg, OH 45342. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the church with Pastor Joe Getts officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville.
